의료 대란에 대하여 중증질환자인 한국루게릭연맹의 입장문

안녕하세요. 한국루게릭연맹회장 김태현입니다.

어쩌다가 여기까지 왔는지 모르겠지만 3년밖에 살 수 없는 목숨을 연명하고 있는 최 중증질환을 가진 루게릭병 환자가 이 자리에서 살려달라고 호소하고 애원하는 것 자체가 수치스럽고 매우 슬픈 일이지만 그래도 살아야 해서 이 자리에 섰습니다.

대한민국 정부 질병관리청 통계자료를 보면 희귀병, 난치병, 불치병이 1,248종류이며 현대의학으로는 치료할 수 없는 의료사각지대에 놓여 있습니다.

이를 하루빨리 극복하여 희귀, 난치 중증질환자에게 희망을 주어야 할 의무를 망각하고 의사들의 기득권을 유지하기위한 의료파업으로 인해서 최대 피해를 보고 있는 사람들은 저희 희귀난치병 중증질환자들입니다.

히포크라테스 선서에 근거하여 희귀 난치질환을 정복하기 위하여 임상 연구와 논문을 통해 세계 최고의 석학이 되고 노벨 의학상에 도전해야 할 지식을 갖춘 의사 집단이 희귀난치병 중증질환자의 목숨을 담보로 의료중단이란 행동으로 겁박한다면 이는 시정잡배와 무엇이 다를 수 있겠습니까.

코로나 위기에서도 K-의료가 있어서 든든했던 대한민국 국민으로서 최고의 자존감이 있는 시점에서 의사들이 환자를 저버린 이번 집단행동은 미개한 국가에서나 일어나는 후진국형 의료 대란입니다.

제발 히포크라테스의 숭고한 의업정신을 잊지 마시고 저희 희귀 난치질환이 있는 중증질환자들의 생명을 살려 주시길 간곡히 바랍니다.

이것을 무시하고 단체행동을 지속한다면 한국의 의사들은 치료를 포기하는 것으로 간주하여 의료를 개방하고 해외 의사들을 적극적으로 도입하여 의료 혼란을 막아야 한다고 생각합니다.

현재 이 시간에도 저희는 호스피스병동에서, 중환자실에서 산소호흡기로 목숨을 유지하면서 실오라기 같은 희망을 꿈꾸며 살기 위해서 발버둥 치고 있습니다. 저희 곁으로 하루속히 돌아오시길 다시 한번 간곡히 요청합니다.

A statement from the Korea Lou Gehrig Federation, a severely ill person,

on the medical crisis

Hello, I'm Kim Taehyun, president of the Korea Lou Gehrig Federation.

I don't know how I got here, but it's a shame and very sad thing that a patient with Lou Gehrig's disease, who has the most severe disease, who can only live for three years, appeals and pleads for his life here, but I'm here because I still have to live.

According to statistics from the Korean government's Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there are 1,248 types of rare, intractable, and incurable diseases, and they are in a medical blind spot that cannot be treated by modern medicine.

Forgetting the obligation to overcome this as soon as possible to give hope to rare and incurable patients, the group of doctors with the best vested interests became politicians to gain more, taking the lives of people with rare and incurable diseases hostage and causing medical chaos, ignoring national order and pushing them into chaos.

If a group of knowledgeable doctors, who study to conquer rare and intractable diseases based on the Hippocratic oath, become the world's best scholars through clinical research and papers and challenge the Nobel Prize in Medicine, threaten the lives of the people, what could be different from municipal mischief.

This collective action, in which doctors abandoned patients at a time when they had the best self-esteem as a Korean citizen because of the K-medical crisis, is a medical crisis in underdeveloped countries.

I beg you to take the Nightingale spirit as a mirror and save the lives of our severely ill patients with rare and intractable diseases.

If we ignore this and continue collective action, we should revise the medical law so that nurses can do what doctors do, and furthermore, Korean doctors regard it as giving up treatment and open up medical care to actively introduce overseas doctors to prevent medical confusion.

At this time of day, we are still struggling to live our lives in hospice wards and on oxygen respirators, dreaming of a silver lining. We earnestly ask that you return to our side as soon as possible.
